Hives are red and itchy sometimes hits the skin. A reaction allergic to a drug or food usually causes them. Allergic reactions cause your body to release chemicals that can make your skin swell up in hives. People who have other allergies are more likely to get hives than other people. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in different shapes and sizes. They range from a few millimeters to several inches in diameter. Hives can be round, or may form rings or large patches. Wheals (hives), red lesions with a red cross “outbreak” at the borders, are another manifestation of hives. Hives can appear anywhere on the body, such as the trunk, arms and legs.
Urticaria is the body € ™ s response to allergens. Usually regarded as a rash or hives, as in the skin and occur after exposure to an allergen to which the body susceptible. Common allergens that cause hives include fish, dairy products, nuts, food additives, flavorings, preservatives, penicillin and aspirin. The stress, temperature extremes, pressure on the skin and insect bites can also cause hives to appear.

Oatmeal can be really useful for hives. Pour a cup of boiling water over one tablespoon oatmeal. Let it steep for thirty minutes. Strain and then apply the liquid in your hives with a cotton ball. This also works to revive the insect bites. Refrigerate the solution and use that in a few days. You can do this in larger quantities and placed in water bath (about four cups of water and four tablespoons of oatmeal).
